Preparation Steps
  1. In a medium saucepan over medium-high heat, combine water and sugar.
  2. Bring to a boil and stir until all sugar is dissolved, approximately 2-3 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and add vanilla extract. Stir well.
  4. Allow the syrup to cool completely, then transfer to an airtight container and store in the refrigerator.
