Preparation Steps
- In a medium non-stick skillet, cook the sausage over medium-high heat, breaking up into small bits until cooked through, about 5-6 minutes.
- Add onions and garlic, and cook another 2 minutes.
- Transfer to the slow cooker and add the bell peppers, crushed tomatoes, rosemary, salt, and pepper.
- Cover and cook on low for 4 hours.
- Prepare the garlic bread slices. Place 6 slices of bread on a baking sheet, spray with olive oil, sprinkle with Italian seasoning and Parmesan, broil until golden, then rub with garlic.
- Top each toasted bread slice with 1/2 cup of meat mixture and shredded cheese. Place back in the oven for 1-2 minutes until cheese melts.
