Preparation Steps
- Combine cumin, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper in a small bowl. Rub the spice mixture all over the beef chuck roast.
- Place the sliced onion and minced garlic at the bottom of the slow cooker. Put the seasoned beef on top.
- Pour chicken broth over the beef. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the beef is tender and easily shredded.
- Shred the beef with two forks and mix well with the juices before serving.
