Preparation Steps
- Preheat the oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease a 9x13 inch pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cinnamon, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar until creamy. Add the egg and vanilla extract, and mix well.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined. Stir in the chopped pecans.
- Press the dough evenly into the prepared pan. Mix the 3 tablespoons sugar and 2 teaspoons cinnamon and sprinkle evenly over the top.
- Bake for 16 to 18 minutes, until the edges are lightly browned. Let cool in the pan for 15 minutes before cutting into squares.
- Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Serve and enjoy!
