Preparation Steps
- Preheat oven to 350°F and line a cupcake pan with liners.
- In a medium bowl, mix flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large bowl, beat butter, sugar, oil, and vanilla until fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition.
- Alternately add dry ingredients and milk to the creamed mixture, starting and ending with dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
- Fill cupcake liners about three quarters full and bake for 16-18 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow cupcakes to cool for 2-3 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
