Preparation Steps
- Season steaks with salt and let them come to room temperature for 30 minutes.
- Prepare chili lime butter by blending butter, lime zest, lime juice, garlic, chili powder, and cilantro. Refrigerate until needed.
- Heat a cast iron skillet over high heat.
- Mix spices for the blackened seasoning in a small bowl.
- Brush steaks with chili lime butter and coat with spice mixture.
- Add grapeseed oil to the hot skillet and swirl to coat.
- Add steaks to the skillet and cook for 6 minutes per side. Check internal temperature for desired doneness.
- Remove steaks from skillet and let rest. Top with reserved chili lime butter and serve sliced.
