  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 medium overripe bananas
  • 2 large eggs
  • 7 tablespoons sour milk or buttermilk To make sour milk: add 1 teaspoon vinegar to milk and let sit 5 minutes
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups chocolate chips divided

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray a 9x5-inch loaf pan with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Cream butter and sugar in the bowl of an electric mixer until well combined.
  3. Add bananas, eggs, sour milk, salt, and baking soda to a blender. Blend until liquefied or mash bananas with a fork and stir in eggs, milk, and soda.
  4. Pour half of the banana mixture into the butter mixture along with 1 cup of flour. Mix until just combined. Repeat with remaining mixture and flour. Do not overmix.
  5. Stir in 1 1/2 cups of chocolate chips.
  6. Pour batter into prepared pan, sprinkle with remaining chocolate chips, and bake for approximately 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean.
  7. Cool in the pan for at least 10 minutes before removing and serving.
